Steve Newkirk, MA, LPC-Intern

When we are young, we have a vision of what we want our lives to become. We want the best for our children, to have strong positive relationships, be happy, and achieve success. We see ourselves in a job that is fun and fulfilling, something we want to do, and a group of friends to embark on adventures with. Through the ebbs and flows of life somehow that vision we had when we were young transforms. We encounter obstacles, personal traumas, and life altering events that can significantly impact our well-being. Like a pinball in a machine, we are bounced all around not knowing where we are going next and losing sight of what we once envisioned for ourselves. We get caught up in pleasing others, providing for others, and longing for something more. Let me help you rediscover the vision you had for yourself, resolve persistent issues preventing you from moving forward, and embrace a stronger, more joyful you. Together, through a variety of therapy techniques personalized to you, we can recapture that vision and work towards a more fulfilling life, one that is gratifying for you and those around you. In the immortal words of Ferris Bueller, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
